Target Marketing

From Tribute Text, a free reading archive edited by Tribute Brand

Companies are often targeting a specific market - a group of people that have been identified as the most likely potential customers for a product because of their shared characteristics such as race, age, income, and lifestyle. [1]

Target marketing (/ˈtɑːɡɪt ˈmɑːkɪt/) might be the epitome of the marketing concept. However, in certain instances, it has been criticized as exploitable.

One such example is Céline's Paris flagship store which has been targeted by a graffiti artist who didn't approve the use of skateboards in Céline's Spring/Summer 2011 campaign. [2]
